Allion USA Adds OCF Certification to Testing Portfolio
May 30, 2017
The Internet of Things (IoT) industry continues to boom, with analysts forecasting 8.4 billion connected devices to be in use worldwide this year and 20.4 billion by 2020. However, mass market adoption is heavily dependent on reliable device interoperability—enter Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF). OCF seeks to establish clear communication across billions of connected devices—from phones to computers, to sensors—regardless of manufacturer, operating system, chipset or physical transport. Currently, the group is developing a specification and sponsoring the open source IoTivity standard.
Allion USA is a longstanding OCF member and we were recently recognized as an OCF approved Authorized Test Lab. To become OCF certified, devices must undergo a rigorous series of tests to prove cross-device interoperability and fulfillment of OCF’s specifications. OCF certified devices must demonstrate seamless discovery and connectivity to multiple devices and technologies.
OCF is leading the campaign for interoperable IoT standards and we recognize the importance of expanding our involvement with the foundation. Allion USA is proud to administer OCF certified testing as part of our services. Contact us today to learn more.
